About The Position

Position Purpose: The Senior Tax Analyst will be responsible for a variety of work streams in the GMS corporate tax function. The candidate must be able to handle confidential information and meet appropriate deadlines for reports and filings. The position requires a high degree of discretion, judgment, and initiative. Strong organizational and planning skills are required. Key Responsibilities: Assist in the preparation of workpapers supporting tax return flings Assist in the review of federal, state, and international tax returns Assist in the preparation of the provision workpapers for quarterly and annual provision Assist with the preparation of m-adjustments, state apportionment, state modifications, and tax attributes schedules Utilization of OneSource system for preparation of tax provision for quarterly provision Calculation and processing of estimated and extension payments/filings by subsidiary on a timely basis Responsible for initial analysis of tax notices and the researching and drafting of tax correspondence with federal, state, and local agencies. Responsible for maintaining open correspondence file and following up with taxing authorities on any outstanding tax refunds Assist with Federal, State and Local audits Assist with indirect tax filings for corporate office and provide support to subsidiaries Research relevant tax issues as they arise Assist in keeping company current with legislative updates that impact the company’s tax posture Assist with identification of continued process improvements in the tax department, including the use of technology Assist with identifying tax planning opportunities Direct Manager/Direct Reports: Reports directly to the Director, Tax. This position does not have direct reports. Travel Requirements: N/A Physical Requirements Must be able to remain in a stationary position in an office environment 80% of the time, when in office. Will frequently move about inside the office to access files, office machinery, etc. Must be able to operate basic office machinery. Must be able to communicate with team and management and be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Working Conditions Working in an office environment. Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree in accounting or tax preferred CPA or on plan to obtain CPA certification preferred 2-4 years Big 4 tax (or similar) experience Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel Proficient in OneSource Provision software Excellent verbal and written communication skills Must be able to problem solve and prioritize tasks. Must be able to manage stress depending on deadlines and ongoing projects. Must be able to multitask. Must be able to receive and analyze information. Must be able to quickly communicate solutions if problems occur. Must be able to demonstrate a high degree of sound judgement and initiative.
