Our corporate office in Livonia, Michigan is currently seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to support the organization’s tax compliance and reporting obligations. This includes preparing annual tax provisions to support reporting and filing of tax returns (Federal and State income tax, property tax, Sales and Use Tax, etc), assisting with audits, and contributing to tax planning initiatives. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external advisors to ensure compliance with US tax laws and regulations. The role reports to the US Tax Manager in Livonia, Michigan. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in US tax, preferably in a large corporate setting or public accounting environment.
  • Strong understanding of US federal and state tax laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to embrace the use of technology to improve efficiencies within the tax team

Nice To Haves

  • CPA designation or working toward CPA is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare support for federal, state, and local income tax returns, and preparation and filing of indirect tax returns (e.g., sales/use tax), property tax returns, and various US State filings as required
  • Co-ordinating with Treasury to make tax payments
  • Assist with quarterly and annual tax provision calculations (ASPE 3465 and ASC 740).
  • Support tax audits by gathering documentation and responding to inquiries.
  • Conduct tax research and provide technical support on tax issues.
  • Maintain accurate tax records and reconcile tax accounts.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the business.
  • Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to ensure proper tax treatment of transactions.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and automation projects.
