The company has announced its intention to spin off its Food Processing Group during this spring. Middleby Corporation is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Tax Analyst to join our tax team for the Food Processing Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting federal, state and international tax compliance, planning, and reporting efforts. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with exposure to complex tax issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or MST preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in tax, preferably with a public accounting firm or multinational corporation.
  • Strong understanding of relevant tax rules and regulations.
  • Experience with tax software and ERP systems (e.g., OneSource, OneStream, HFM)
  • Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with ASC 740 tax provision is preferred.
  • CPA or MST preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare certain federal and state book to tax differences and other components of the tax provision on a quarterly basis, including the rollforward and review of the tax packages.
  • Assist with preparation of international components of quarterly and annual income tax provision, such as foreign tax credits, GILTI, Subpart F, BEAT, and FDII.
  • Prepare and review international tax compliance, including Forms 5471, 8858, and 1118.
  • Perform research and analysis of tax issues.
  • For state income taxes, obtain and review apportionment files, state modifications such as bonus depreciation, and assist with review of state tax returns.
  • Support international tax planning initiatives and provide guidance on cross-border transactions.
  • Monitor changes in relevant tax legislation and assess the impact on the company.
  • Collaborate with external advisors and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely tax filings.
  • Maintain SAGE fixed assets software and calculate depreciation and gain/loss on fixed assets,
  • Assist with tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities.
  • Maintain detailed and organized documentation to support tax positions and compliance efforts.
  • Assist with various process improvement projects including data automation and document collection as well as occasional sales tax queries.
