This role is responsible for delivering high-quality tax advice, tax planning, and tax return preparation services to assigned clients while ensuring high client and Financial Advisor satisfaction. This is a fast-paced and hands-on position, requiring strong client relationship management skills in additional to technical knowledge. This is an enriching opportunity for a seasoned tax professional with growth aspirations. This is an on-site position. However, we understand that life happens. We can offer remote work flexibility when needed for occasional situations. In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary range for this position is $100,000.00 to $115,000.00 , exclusive of bonuses and benefits.   • Tax preparation for business (partnership, S-Corp, C-Corp), trust, estate and Individual tax returns; also, foundations, payroll, sales tax, and foreign reporting, when appropriate
  • Review and analyze client bookkeeping records for accuracy and GAAP compliance, prepare and post adjusting and reclassification journal entries, and produce client-ready monthly and year-end financial statements including Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, and Cash Flow for tax and advisory engagements
  • Conduct tax research, planning, and analysis including but not limited to CCH Intelliconnect, BNA projections, special research projects, and retirement account recommendations
  • Prepare tax strategies and projections
  • Provide tax planning advice to clients and their Financial Advisors
  • Review and respond to tax notices
  • Respond state and federal auditors’ inquiries and work to resolve them
  • Amend tax returns
  • Operationalize and improve processes, systems, tools, and communication to enhance effectiveness, productivity, responsiveness, and client satisfaction
  • Identify opportunities to increase value delivered to clients and revenue for Financial Advisors
  • Ensure that urgent or high impact issues affecting assigned clients are quickly resolved
  • Build and maintain good relationships with Financial Advisors and clients
  • Share tax expertise and assist team members as appropriate
  • Answer tax-related questions and act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Financial Advisors and other team members
  • Develop and deploy training plans for non-tax staff as needed
  • Train and mentor junior tax staff members as needed
  • Maintain expertise in all aspects of tax compliance
  • Maintain fluency in tax-related software, tools, and procedures
  • Grow your tax expertise year-over-year through continuing professional education and individual learning
  • Stay informed about current trends in tax and the tax services industry
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • CPA or EA required
  • Minimum 3 years of public accounting experience required
  • Must be able to consult and meet with clients – excellent formal/professional written and communication skills required
  • Available to work overtime during busy seasons (March-April and September-October)
  • QuickBooks experience preferred
  • Lacerte tax software and paperless tax processing (Laserfiche) experience preferred
