About The Position

Reid Accountants + Advisors is an independent, full-service accounting and advisory firm specializing in accounting and consulting services for businesses and individuals, with offices in Long Island, NYC, White Plains, and South Carolina. The firm is rapidly growing and seeking an experienced Tax & Accounting Senior. This diversified role involves a healthy mix of General Accounting and Income Tax Preparation. The candidate will evaluate and record client business transactions and the work of assigned accountants. A strong understanding of general accounting, detail orientation, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively are essential. The position requires frequent interactions with cross-functional teams within the organization, as well as collaboration with clients and subordinates.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• CPA or CPA candidate
• At least 5+ years of experience in a CPA firm
• Able to work independently and within a team environment
• Outstanding communication skills both written and verbal
• Detail oriented and capable of multi-tasking, prioritizing and managing time effectively
• Reliably commute or planning to relocate to Woodbury, NY 11797 before starting work

Nice To Haves

• Experience using UltraTax CS, Checkpoint, Microsoft Office Suite and Intuit products

Responsibilities

• Analyze and review general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy, closings, and journal entries.
• Work in all phases of tax planning, tax preparation, review, compliance, and research.
• Be proficient in the preparation of various tax returns, including, but not limited to: Individual, Fiduciary, Corporate, Partnership, and Multistate.
• Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts and identify areas for improvement.
• Work closely with Partners and Managers and assist team with ad-hoc assignments and special projects.
