About The Position
Kemper CPA Group LLP, a top 100 public accounting firm, is seeking a qualified candidate for the Senior Tax Accountant position in our Merced, California office. This advanced level, non-management professional role is ideal for individuals with three to five years of tax experience in a public accounting environment. The Senior Tax Accountant will be responsible for completing moderately complex federal, state, local, and special tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts, and estates, working independently and with minimal direction. This position requires compliance with federal, state, and local requirements, necessitating effective communication with partners, staff, and clients to ensure timely and accurate tax reporting. In addition to tax return preparation, the Senior Tax Accountant will prepare and/or review financial statements, reports, and records by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Maintaining professional standards and technical knowledge is crucial, and the candidate is expected to stay current on general economic and political trends that may impact tax legislation. The role also involves contributing to the overall success of the firm by promoting efficient execution throughout engagements and cultivating positive client relationships. The Senior Tax Accountant will research issues and respond to client and staff questions in a clear and understandable manner, managing multiple client requests efficiently and timely. This position is full-time, with overtime expected during peak seasons, and offers the flexibility of fully remote, onsite, or hybrid work schedules.
