Requirements

  • Proven experience in tax accounting, with exposure to both domestic and international tax matters.
  • Strong technical knowledge of tax regulations for corporations, partnerships, and individual returns.
  • Experience reviewing and preparing complex tax returns and conducting tax research.
  • Excellent mentoring and team leadership skills to guide junior staff.
  • Strong communication skills for client interactions and internal collaboration.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, especially during peak tax season.
  • Familiarity with tax software and professional accounting tools.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare complex tax returns for a variety of entities, including corporations, S Corporations, partnerships, individuals, fiduciaries, non-profits, and retirement plans.
  • Conduct tax research and provide guidance on complex issues, including international tax matters.
  • Review basic tax returns and extensions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist engagement supervisors and delegate work appropriately to staff while maintaining clear communication.
  • Train, supervise, and mentor staff accountants in tax preparation and professional development.
  • Develop strong client relationships and contribute to client loyalty by delivering high-quality service.
  • Gain proficiency in preparing Canadian-related tax returns for both individuals and businesses.
