About The Position

URBN is hiring a Senior Tax Accountant, State and Local Tax! We are seeking a detail-oriented, dynamic, innovative and enthusiastic individual to join our tax team as a state and local team member. This individual must have excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills, should be a self-starter, and have the ability to interact with all levels of personnel internally and externally.

Requirements

• 3-4 years progressive experience in public accounting or U.S. based multinational corporation.
• Must have state and local return preparation experience.
• Solid experience managing multiple processes/multi-tasking; strong time management skills.

Nice To Haves

• Tax provision preparation experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of state and local tax returns, including extensions and quarterly payments, within prescribed internal deadlines, including all supporting work papers and required research; assistance with external review process of certain returns.
• Direct assistance to state and local tax team in all state and local tax matters including, but not limited to, audits, notices, planning and other reporting requirements.
• Participation in preparation of Federal U.S. tax return, quarterly payments and extensions, including provision to return tie-outs, special consolidations, supporting work papers and associated research.
• Assistance with preparation of annual and quarterly federal, state and local tax provisions (ASC 740) including schedule M-1s, reconciliation of tax payable and receivable accounts, deferred tax assets and liabilities and FIN48 assessments, with emphasis on state and local tax accounting.
• Special projects, as assigned.
