We are seeking a Senior Talent Specialist with proven University Relations & Recruiting (UR&R) experience to join our Early Careers team. In this role, you will serve as a key talent partner across the business, working closely with and reporting to the Senior Manager, Early Careers, to design and execute high-impact campus recruitment strategies. This role is hands-on, campus-facing, and requires deep expertise in building and sustaining long-term university partnerships that deliver strong pipelines of diverse, high-caliber early talent.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA / Master's Degree preferred. 4+ years of hands-on, Early Careers and Campus Recruitment experience supporting a large, global organization. Life Sciences or STEM-related industry experience preferred.
  • Proven track record of developing and managing campus recruiting programs, including relationship-building with faculty, student organizations, and career services.
  • Flexibility to travel up to 50% during peak recruiting seasons and work flexible hours for evening or early-morning events.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to partner with internal functions such as Employer Brand, Recruitment Marketing, and Early Careers leadership to deliver a unified strategy.
  • Experience using key UR&R recruitment tools and platforms (Workday, Phenom People, Handshake).
  • Ability to apply Key Performance Indicators to measure recruiting success and continuously improve strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a high degree of emotional intelligence, executive presence, and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment with a passion for early talent development.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Senior Manager, Early Careers to align university recruiting strategies with strategic workforce planning initiatives across Groups, Divisions, and Business Units.
  • Lead end-to-end recruitment for Leadership Development Programs and Early Career roles, from outreach and engagement through offer and onboarding.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with university career centers, deans, professors, and student organizations to strengthen our talent pipeline.
  • Frequent travel (up to 50% during peak recruiting seasons) to universities and colleges nationwide to host and attend recruiting events, networking sessions, employer panels, and on-campus interviews.
  • Engage with student organizations, professional societies, and diversity groups to increase brand visibility and attract top talent.
  • Cultivate year-round partnerships with University Alumni networks to drive event participation, secure referrals, and support offer closing.
  • Partner with Early Careers Recruitment Marketing and Employer Brand teams to develop and deliver marketing content, presentations, and branded materials for campus and virtual recruiting events — ensuring a consistent, compelling presence that positions Thermo Fisher as an employer of choice.
  • Collaborate with the Intern Programming Manager to co-facilitate Summer programming and support interns’ transition to full-time roles.
  • Deliver a “white-glove” candidate experience, guiding students through the recruitment process and executing keep-warm strategies for future hiring needs.
  • Leverage ATS/CRM tools (Workday, Phenom People, Handshake) to manage pipelines, track engagement, and report ROI on university partnerships.
  • Support alternate channels recruitment and pipelining efforts such as Veteran and trade program hiring.
