Requirements

  • Typically requires a University degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Experience with Windows or Red Hat client server environments, including server replication methods and configuration.
  • Experience with application installation, configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting in multi-server environments.
  • Experience with system hardening techniques and best practices to enhance security.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Group Policy, cybersecurity best practices, and networking concepts.
  • Experience with automation and scripting for system deployment (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash).

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize advanced security tools, systems, and policies to enhance network monitoring, data segmentation, access control, encryption, and secure data transfer, leveraging innovative technologies and best practices.
  • Perform and sustain cybersecurity operations, focusing on managing, optimizing, and securing networks and enclaves through advanced security mechanisms and toolsets.
  • Evaluate and refine system security configurations to align with and exceed modern IT security standards, including the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and NIST 800-53 security controls.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions to complex technical challenges.
  • Establish functional and technical specifications, define input/output parameters, and ensure comprehensive integration of systems or subsystems.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, leveraging advanced tools and methodologies to ensure system reliability.
  • Identify and implement opportunities within existing technologies to enhance efficiency, scalability, and performance.
  • Obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoD) 8140 Level II Certification within 6 months of the start date (required).
