About The Position

The Boeing Defense Space and Security (BDS) is looking for a Senior Systems Engineering Software Integrator to join their team in Richardson, TX. This position will serve as an individual contributor for the P-8A Advanced Airborne Sensor (AAS) Training Systems Integration and Test team. The Integration and Test team provides software integration for the P-8A AAS Training Systems, which consists of a weapons trainer simulator, electronic classroom for desktop instruction, and a mission planning station. This position will support the software team in the integration of the AAS software baselines. The position requires collaboration with the software owners to ensure proper device operation after the software components are integrated. The ideal candidate must be comfortable working independently in a challenging, fast-paced environment. This position requires a lot of collaboration with other teams and the customer, strong communication and interpersonal skills are required. The candidate will support the training devices in Dallas as well as retrofitting the training devices at customer sites.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry
  • 3+ years of experience with Linux Operating Systems
  • 3+ years of experience and competency in troubleshooting, analysis and problem-solving strategies
  • Must be able to obtain a DoD 8570 certification at IAT Level II or higher (CompTIA Security+ or equivalent)
  • Willing and able to travel up to 25% of the time domestically (intermittent for remote installations)

Nice To Haves

  • Active Top Secret Clearance
  • DoD 8570 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA)
  • Familiarity with the P-8A training devices
  • Experience with scripting languages such as: bash, PowerShell, python
  • 5+ years of experience with Linux Operating Systems

Responsibilities

  • Maintain P-8A AAS training devices functionality
  • Integration of locally developed software into the training devices
  • Integration and troubleshooting of software from outside entities, requiring external support for configuration and troubleshooting
  • Install and configure Windows and Linux virtual machines to meet cyber security requirements
  • Install and test monthly patches on the operating systems
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network problems to find root cause and collaborate with the functional teams to find resolution
  • Perform scheduled lab maintenance operations and cyber continuous monitoring activities in the labs
  • Integration, configuration, and verification of map and radar databases
  • Develop and maintain scripts used to install, integrate, and configure software products (Bash, PowerShell, and Ansible)
  • Verify device functionality after software integration and cyber updates
  • Create and update scenarios for use in the training simulation
  • Support testing of training systems devices
