About The Position

The Senior Systems Engineering & Project Management Support Specialist provides advanced technical and programmatic expertise across multiple system development and acquisition programs. This role ensures that system architectures, engineering standards, and lifecycle management practices align with enterprise and program objectives. Acting as a trusted advisor to leadership, the specialist drives integration, compliance, and execution excellence across all phases of the acquisition lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Education / Experience Equivalency: 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) 3 years of relevant experience with a Master’s degree (MS/MA) 0 years of experience required with a Doctorate (PhD) An additional 2 years of experience may be substituted for an Associate’s degree An additional 4 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
  • Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance or the ability to obtain SCI access and successfully pass a polygraph examination.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience ( 10+ years preferred ) within the Intelligence Community (IC) or Department of Defense (DoD) supporting systems architecture, systems engineering, or acquisition program management .
  • Demonstrated project management experience , including oversight of cost, schedule, performance, and risk .
  • Experience with information technology requirements development and Government acceptance testing .
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities , including the ability to identify technical issues, assess programmatic impacts, and develop actionable recommendations for Government stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel .
  • Excellent oral, written, and electronic communication skills , capable of effectively engaging technical and executive audiences.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and tight deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems , or a related technical discipline — or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Understanding of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) mission, acquisition processes, and engineering lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with legacy systems , as well as NGA requirements and engineering processes .
  • Experience supporting IC or DoD modernization efforts involving systems integration, enterprise architecture, or lifecycle acquisition.
  • Exposure to programmatic and technical governance within acquisition or systems engineering environments.

Responsibilities

  • Apply best engineering practices to ensure quality, reliability, and maintainability across system development efforts.
  • Define, implement, and enforce system methodologies, standards, and technical baselines .
  • Oversee system architecture design and development , ensuring alignment with program requirements and enterprise standards.
  • Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to project teams and stakeholders.
  • Support acquisition and management of Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) and other assets required for development activities.
  • Maintain situational awareness across assigned programs, identifying technical interdependencies, risks, and cross-project impacts.
  • Support full program lifecycle activities , including planning, execution, reporting, and milestone preparation.
  • Partner with ISP PMOs to plan for technology upgrades, improvements, roadmaps, and schedules.
  • Identify, track, and manage schedule, technical, and integration risks to ensure successful delivery.
  • Develop and maintain requirements traceability across enterprise and program-level projects.
  • Lead requirements elicitation, decomposition, allocation, and negotiation at both enterprise and program levels.
  • Support requirements verification and validation to ensure lifecycle traceability.
  • Monitor requirements development and closure through each milestone.
  • Coordinate requirements management across interdependent programs of record .
  • Review developer deliverables and documentation , providing actionable technical and programmatic feedback.
  • Evaluate standards, engineering changes, and policy updates for potential impacts.
  • Contribute to Request for Change (RFC) development and impact assessments across affected segments.
  • Participate in Engineering Review Boards (ERBs) , Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) , and other governance forums.
  • Prepare and coordinate briefings and documentation for technical and acquisition reviews.
  • Provide inputs for acquisition lifecycle reporting and compliance documentation.
  • Collaborate with Program Management Offices (PMOs) and stakeholders to align modernization and system planning efforts with enterprise strategy.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across internal and external organizations to promote effective communication and issue resolution.
