As a Senior Systems Engineer at Boeing Intelligence & Analytics (BI&A), this position will derive an understanding of system requirements from stakeholder needs. You will be responsible for end-to-end development environments and establish and follow a formal procedure for coordinating system integration activities among multiple teams, ensuring complete coverage of all interfaces. You will capture all interface designs in a common interface control format, and store interface data in a commonly accessible repository. Additionally, you will apply system engineering principles in the development of system requirements, functional requirements and allocation of the same to individual hardware, software, facility, and personnel components.

  • Develop functional requirements and allocate them to individual components
  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 20 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+15 years' related work experience, Master+18 years' related work experience)
  • An active TS/SCI with active Polygraph
  • Providing technical direction for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of specific components of complex software systems
  • Conducting system requirements reviews and developing concepts of operation and interface standards
  • Developing system engineering documentation, such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements Specifications, and Interface Control Documents
  • Conducting and/or approving end-to-end system trade analyses optimizing system operations over its life-cycle
  • Developing system design alternatives considering life cycle cost, reuse, complexity, risk, system expansion, and growth
  • Developing alternative courses of action, workarounds, and fall-back positions with recommended course of action for each risk
  • Improving standard integration strategies based upon rational for previous decisions that resulted in improved integration performance
  • Fully defining interfaces in terms of origination, destination, stimulus, and data characteristics for software
  • Experience as an Agile SCRUM Master
  • Experience working in an Agile software development environment
  • Experience generating technical documentation
  • Experience using Jira and Confluence
  • Hybrid work authorized, up to 16-hours per week (depending on team and workflow)
