About The Position

This role is responsible for architecting, optimizing, and scaling the infrastructure that powers our company’s applications and services. You will lead complex projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high availability, security, and performance of infrastructure systems. This position requires deep technical expertise in infrastructure technologies, cloud platforms, automation, and emerging technologies. Senior Infrastructure Operations Engineer Job Description: As a Senior Infrastructure Operations Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing our compute and virtualization operations. You will be the SME for one or more of the following areas: VMware, Dell Compute equipment, Windows & Linux operating systems with high acumen IaC/CaC for business-critical workloads. This position requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual with a strong technical background and a passion for infrastructure engineering and promoting operational excellence. In addition, this is a progressive role which will contribute first in the on-premise hosting environment evolving by the addition of responsibilities in the Cloud AWS/Azure hosting environments.

Requirements

  • Ideally, Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in Infrastructure Operations, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • High Proficiency in one or more of the following: VMware, Dell compute, Windows operating systems, Linux operating system distros (RHEL), IAC/CAC Tooling.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability apply industry best practices to design, enhance, optimize, and troubleshoot compute & virtualization throughout the environment.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure best practices along with industry & governance standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience Coaching and training team members on areas of expertise along with navigating business partnerships

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, Red Hat Certified System Administrator, VMware Certified Technical Associate (or higher), and Dell Certifications related to Servers and Storage
  • Experience with Compute and Storage Capacity Management
  • Experience with scripting language PowerShell in concert with PowerCLI for VMware, and Dell Powerstore modules.
  • Experience with VMWare Aria Operations
  • Experience with IAC/CAC tooling such as Terraform and Ansible
  • Experience working in an Agile Environment

Responsibilities

  • VMware Management: Design, optimize, and champion VMware environments to ensure best practices for performance, security, and availability.
  • Dell Compute Equipment: Design, optimize, and champion Dell server environments including installation, configuration, maintenance, and life-cycle management.
  • Tooling and Optimization: Enhance tooling and practices to proactively identify and resolve infrastructure issues with automation.
  • Documentation: Write and maintain comprehensive, accurate, and up-to-date documentation of work instructions, configurations, and standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams: IT, security, application development, and business partners to support product objectives and ensure seamless operations.
  • Incident Response: As Level 3 support, respond to and resolve escalated infrastructure-related incidents and outages in a timely manner.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance infrastructure efficiency and reliability.
