We are currently seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support operations in Stuttgart, Germany. This is a full-time, OCONUS position requiring an active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance, eligibility for NATO Indoctrination and TESA accreditation, and other requirements. TESA certification provides significant tax exemptions for U.S. employees stationed in Germany — along with other great Cambridge provides benefits like housing, COLA, and dependent education reimbursements, etc. What You’ll Do As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will provide expert knowledge and operational contributions in a specific area of Special Operations Command Africa’s (SOCAFRICA) mission to fulfill requirements for comprehensive operational and knowledge management support and related operational architecture services. The Sr. Systems Engineer will oversee the operational effectiveness and data content during the current operational phase and must be capable of contributing to improved operations in the objective architecture developmental phase. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of demonstrated experience in the specific technical field, or 7+ years of demonstrated work experience in the specific technical field.
  • 10+ years of experience with U.S. Special Operation Forces (SOF) required. SOF experience is defined as: an individual having successfully completed a SOCOM-approved SOF assessment and selection process and whom has 10 years executing various SOF operations and missions at the unit level.
  • Must have a current and active DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
  • Proficient with modern IT tools and infrastructure technologies
  • Some travel, both CONUS and OCONUS may be required; some overnight stays possible.
  • Must have an active passport to support OCONUS travel and/or living requirements.
  • Compliance with vaccination and medical requirements for TDY/OCONUS roles as per Vaccine Recommendations by AOR | Health.mil.
  • Must be able to work in an office environment, sitting at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday.
  • Work is physically comfortable; the employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.
  • May be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful background investigation
  • Alcohol and Drug screening may be required for federal contract compliance

Responsibilities

  • Must be an operational expert and subject matter thought leader capable of contributing to SOCAFRICA J3X operational architectures and testing new procedures
  • Has familiarity with a key SOCAFRICA operational area such as RSO, Desk Officer, ASO, SAPO, or Foreign Disclosure
  • Must understand concepts, practices, and procedures in the SOF Sensitive Activities Subject Matter Expertise area
