About The Position

Senior Systems Engineer Company: The Boeing Company Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer (Level 5) to support the Systems Engineering Integration & Test ( SEIT) Team in Berkeley, MO . This critical role ensures the seamless integration of diverse aircraft systems and components, directly enhancing the performance, safety, and reliability of our next-generation aircraft. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in engineering with specialized expertise in systems integration. They will demonstrate strong leadership and collaboration skills, guiding a team of engineers to develop and deliver innovative, high-quality solutions that drive our mission forward.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 10+ years of systems engineering and architecture experience
  • Proven experience leading system architecture for multi-domain systems or system-of-systems proposals.
  • Strong hands-on experience with requirements development and management, interface control, trade studies, models, and MBSE practices and tools.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing technical proposal volumes and supporting capture activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate customer needs and RFP requirements into feasible, cost-conscious architectures and programmatic strategies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills; ability to brief senior leadership and customers.
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
  • This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with defense, aerospace, or other regulated industries and familiarity with DFARS/FAR and relevant security/classification handling.
  • Proficiency with MBSE tools (e.g., Cameo/Capella/No Magic), DOORS/Polarion/Jama, SysML, UML, and modelling/simulation tools.
  • Background in systems engineering processes such as INCOSE, ISO 15288, or MIL standards.
  • Experience with systems engineering for software-intensive systems, cloud-enabled missions, PNT, avionics, C2, ISR, or communications systems.
  • Active Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to lead activities to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.
  • Leads others to evaluate customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.
  • Leads analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture.
  • Leads analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success.
  • Leads, develops, maintains and identifies improvements the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.
