About The Position

The Role General Motors is undergoing a major transformation, both in how we operate and in how we will influence the future of transportation in the EV realm. Our Software Services team is on the forefront of this work, emboldening our culture by seeking out determined, innovative individuals who will join our team to help move us forward and achieve our mission. We are seeking a hands-on, versatile ETL Senior Systems Engineer who will oversee the creation, implementation, and enhancement of enterprise data integration and transformation solutions across multiple platforms. Your role includes defining ETL methodologies, upholding data quality, security, and scalability, and setting engineering standards to ensure system reliability, performance, and observability.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated expertise with ETL tools and frameworks, such as DataStage, Spark and Boomi.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience guiding cross-functional teams and aligning technical solutions to business needs.
  • Broad understanding of enterprise data architecture, security, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to address complex integration issues and deliver scalable, auditable solutions.
  • Proficiency in programming languages and technologies such as database query languages, general-purpose scripting languages, command-line scripting, and web service integration. e.g. SQL, python, shell scripting, REST APIs

Nice To Haves

  • Strong domain knowledge & experience with with Boomi (ETL tools & frameworks).
  • Working knowledge of UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group), Boomi’s Integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS) is a huge plus
  • Experience leading migration projects involving crucial enterprise applications like ERP, CRM & HR Systems, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and manage ETL pipelines using tools like IBM DataStage, Apache Spark, and Boomi.
  • Integrate enterprise applications, databases, and cloud environments for efficient data movement.
  • Enforce data governance for accuracy, consistency, and regulatory compliance.
  • Establish best practices for monitoring, logging, error handling, and system resilience.
  • Oversee change management for ETL deployments and version control.
  • Lead and mentor ETL engineers, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
