About The Position

Mission Technologies is seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to support the Joint Training Synthetic Environment (JTSE) and JLVC Modernization efforts under the Joint Staff J7 (JS J 7) contract. This role offers the opportunity to work in a high impact environment supporting advanced training, simulation, and data driven solutions for the Department of Defense.The following positions are available:

Requirements

  • 5 - 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 - 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 - 4 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience
  • Must have an active TS/SCI
  • Strong communication skills; ability to collaborate with senior government officials, military personnel, and diverse technical teams.
  • Proven ability to work in complex, high stakes environments with a focus on timely delivery.
  • Familiarity with simulation protocols such as DIS and/or HLA.
  • Basic understanding of Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) or multi level security environments.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts, data formats, and system integration.
  • Experience supporting secure or classified environments.
  • Understanding of DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with Linux and/or Windows server environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Joint Live Virtual Constructive (JLVC) environments.
  • Knowledge of CDS tools such as Radiant Mercury or similar technologies.
  • Experience working with DIS and HLA FOM in simulation systems.
  • Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity and RMF accreditation processes.
  • Experience in data transformation, filtering, or sanitization across classification levels.

Responsibilities

  • Implement Cross Domain Solution (CDS) rulesets to manage data flow between security domains (allow, deny, sanitize).
  • Analyze DIS protocol data structures and identify objects/interactions for CDS transfer.
  • Support integration of JLVC HLA FOM data into CDS compliant formats.
  • Engineer data transformation solutions to release higher classification data into lower classification formats.
  • Maintain traceability of simulation effects and training audience actions across classification boundaries.
  • Collaborate with accreditation teams to ensure CDS certification and compliance.
  • Evaluate and troubleshoot limitations of fixed format CDS data packets in modern network environments.
  • Support system integration, testing, and validation of CDS capabilities within simulation architectures.
  • Maintain technical documentation, including interface specifications and data handling guidelines.
  • Provide systems engineering support across requirements analysis, design, implementation, and verification.
