Raytheon is seeking a talented and motivated Systems Engineer to join our team within the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SETC) Discipline, supporting a range of programs. This role offers a unique opportunity to work across the full lifecycle of the product, from concept to deployment Every day will bring new challenges, requiring you to collaborate across disciplines to troubleshoot issues, perform data analysis, and implement solutions. Your contributions will directly impact the success of mission-critical defense systems, and you'll have a hands-on role in ensuring the entire system functions seamlessly. The Systems Engineering and Test Center (SETC) organization is currently hiring a Senior Systems Engineer to join our Eglin AFB, FL location. SETC is an exciting and challenging environment where you will have the opportunity to design, develop and test to shape innovative solutions for our customers. Join our organization and experience the Systems V engineering life cycle while interfacing with a variety of engineering disciplines, subject matter experts, chief engineers, chief technologists, the customer, and so many more to ensure we design, integrate, test and strengthen our systems to work the first time and every time for our warfighters! In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on an effectors project pertinent to the systems lifecycle. This role is 100% on-site at our Eglin AFB, FL facility.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience
  • Hardware Systems Integration experience
  • Weapons systems Integration experience onto an aircraft military platform
  • Weapons system flight test experience with aircraft
  • Experience with troubleshooting and failure process
  • Experience with the use of lab/field test equipment
  • Experience supporting field tests
  • Please Note: Active and transferrable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance (not interim) is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Telemetry data collection
  • Data analysis experience
  • Experience in integrating RF/EO sensor output, either modulated waveforms or streams of digital samples used for real-time representation of RF/EO scenes data collection / analysis (including Telemetry)
  • Test Systems design experience and collaborating across multiple engineering disciplines, such as electrical, electronics, mechanical, software, and computer engineering
  • Experience in integration with test equipment, telemetry data analysis software, and missile systems host platforms
  • Experience managing and presenting technical data to Stakeholders and Customer community, in design reviews and technical interchange meetings
  • Experience supporting field tests and/or evaluating requirements
  • Knowledge of MIL-STD-1553 and MIL-STD-1760 interfaces
  • Perform successfully in an open environment with frequent interaction with Government customers and peers

Responsibilities

  • Perform integration, verification, and testing in the lab or the field to ensure the system under test performs according to specifications/requirements.
  • Perform data collection activities, including review and analysis of data elements, and provide quick look reports of results.
  • Trace and/or correct faults in mechanical or electronic systems.
  • Familiarity with failure reporting, analysis, corrective action and/or fault tree analysis.
  • Create/modify documentation in support of reviews associated with formal testing, which may include Test Readiness Review (TRR), Consent to Ship (CTS), and Test Data Review (TDR) packages.
  • Support Flight Line testing outside around operational aircraft which may require working non-standard and extended hours.
  • Travel required both domestic and international, which is typically for a one- or two-week duration.
  • Obtain and maintain additional program access as required
