SAIC is hiring a Senior Systems Engineer with experience in defense weapon systems and acquisition policy to join our energized team in support of an exciting variety of programs. SAIC supports the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)) customers and enterprise as they lead, cultivate, and develop innovative solutions to address common concerns of reliable and maintainable weapon systems. SAIC also provides technical expertise to improve the state-of-practice to pursue cross-cutting initiatives across the acquisition community and within the systems engineering enterprise. As a member of the team, you will assist OUSD(R&E) advance the practice of Systems Engineering (SE) focused on modernized engineering practices such as Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA), Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), AGILE Systems Development, and Artificial Intelligence (AI). You will regularly work with the SE community of practice and DoD senior executives. You will review and evaluate OUSD(R&E) modernization priorities and related technologies, systems, legislation, policies, procedures, practices, guidance, standards, handbooks, tools, DoD workforce development resources and training, in coordination with OUSD(R&E) organizations, DoD Components, other federal agencies, and academic and industry partners. This position is hybrid remote with on-site work located in Alexandria, VA. The candidate must reside in the National Capital Region (NCR).
