This Chief Engineer role is within the Double Eagle organization supporting the Ground Engineering (GE) Team in Colorado and reporting directly to the GE Manager. As the GE Chief Engineer, you will: Guide prioritization and execution of activities across the GE Team - actively monitor and maintain awareness of all events, activities, and systems Provide technical guidance for teams of specialized engineers who identify and troubleshoot ground issues with hardware, software, and networks, provide anomaly response and resolution support, support root-cause investigations, and provide technical recommendations to contract Management and Customers. Communicate consistently with Customers - providing technical explanations and impact assessments, and answering questions Provide schedule coordination inputs Provide impact assessments and feedback for RFCs and future systems/updates Provide expertise in future team planning Provide technical mentorship to members of the GE Team Candidate should have ground engineering/operations experience, leadership skills, and a strong desire to help the greater team be successful. Candidate will be required to have existing technical knowledge of the Ground system, potentially be on-call, and occasionally work off-shift hours, responding to program needs. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Requirements

  • Space mission operations experience
  • Double Eagle Ground system knowledge and experience
  • Leadership experience of a technical team as team lead, project lead, or formal leader
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner to varying levels of employees, management and customers
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must have an active TS/SCI clearance and CI poly

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ground tools and metrics
  • Experience with 24x7 operations support, to include recall of key personnel
  • Experience with spacecraft/ground anomaly response/resolution
  • Experience developing automated solutions on systems originally built without automation
  • Understanding of/experience with Machine Learning and how to develop models
  • Experience utilizing a breadth of software platforms/languages: Python, PERL, Linux, AWS, etc.
  • Previous experience with a customer base on a program for complex systems, software development, and issue resolution
  • Ability to multi-task, especially to perform multiple assignments while meeting competing deadlines
  • Enjoys working in a team environment and collaborating with people in different functions
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
