About The Position

At Torc, we have always believed that autonomous vehicle technology will transform how we travel, move freight, and do business. A leader in autonomous driving since 2007, Torc has spent over a decade commercializing our solutions with experienced partners. Now a part of the Daimler family, we are focused solely on developing software for automated trucks to transform how the world moves freight. Join us and catapult your career with the company that helped pioneer autonomous technology, and the first AV software company with the vision to partner directly with a truck manufacturer. Meet the Team: Join our Strategy & Mission Control Product Engineering team at the forefront of autonomous trucking and Level 4 (L4) autonomy. We partner closely with functional safety, systems engineering, and design teams to help ensure Functional Safety and SOTIF goals are achieved while building a robust, scalable autonomous vehicle platform. We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer with deep expertise in Operational Design Domain (ODD) quantification and a passion for safety-critical systems, risk assessment, and data-driven development. In this role, you will lead ODD strategy and characterization efforts, using Python and other analytical tools to define, measure, and improve system performance across operating environments. You will collaborate cross-functionally to drive alignment, inform engineering decisions, and help shape the future of autonomous trucking technology. As a Sr. System Engineer (Data Analysis & Statistics Background), you will play a key role in evaluating and enhancing the safety and reliability of autonomous trucking systems. You will work with functional (FuSa) and behavioral safety (SOTIF) engineers, system engineers, data scientists, AI-ML engineers, and SW Devs to ensure that our autonomous system operates safely and effectively under all conditions.
