Raytheon Technologies is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer (MBSE) to provide enterprise-wide systems engineering and integration support within the Intelligence Community. The ideal candidate will apply Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Digital Engineering practices to define system architectures, manage interfaces, and ensure traceability of requirements to technical solutions. This role involves developing and maintaining system models using tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler, as well as utilizing computer-based simulations to analyze and optimize the performance of complex systems.

  • Leverage Cameo Systems/Architecture Modeler to create, analyze, and maintain detailed system models, utilizing SysML, UML, and other relevant modeling languages to support system architecture development, design validation, and system integration activities.
  • Map and trace system requirements to corresponding system functions, processes, and Concept of Operations (CONOPs), ensuring a clear and structured flow from requirements to architecture, and conducting impact analysis on system performance.
  • Maintain version control and apply configuration management processes to incoming model baseline changes, ensuring integrity and traceability.
  • Conduct validation and updates on legacy model captures to ensure consistency with evolving system requirements and architecture.
  • Establish and integrate Digital Engineering (DE) methods to advance the transition to Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), including the development and adoption of new processes that enhance enterprise-wide systems engineering practices.
  • Develop and utilize computer models to analyze and optimize the performance of complex systems.
  • Work with a variety of software and programming languages to simulate real-world scenarios and predict system behavior, often collaborating with other engineers and stakeholders to translate those predictions into actionable improvements.
  • Communicate effectively with program leadership, government stakeholders, SETA personnel, and other contractors to guide operational and engineering activities.
  • Manage system integration projects and deliver reliable data that supports informed customer decisions regarding installations, modifications, and upgrades.
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 5 years of prior engineering experience or equivalent experience.
  • Experience applying Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles, including system modeling with Cameo, or equivalent tools.
  • Experience with Digital Engineering practices and toolchains to enhance design, integration, and test workflows.
  • Experience with high level programming languages (e.g. Python).
  • Experience with project management.
  • Experience collaborating with internal and external customers in a team environment (Government, Military, SETA, and Contractor).
  • An active and transferable TS/SCI CI Poly U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for the required security clearance.
  • Experience with systems installation, integration, and test activities.
  • Experience with relevant programming languages (Python, C++, etc.).
  • Experience with Request for Change (RFC) impact reviews and assessment processes.
  • Experience with customer NSIS requirements and rapid delivery methods.
  • Experience in customer relationships and stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience working across contract and location boundaries.
  • Experience with Atlassian JIRA, Confluence, and collaborative engineering tools.
  • Experience conveying complex technical issues through oral and written communication.
  • Medical, dental, vision, life insurance
  • Short-term disability, long-term disability
  • 401(k) match
  • Flexible spending accounts
  • Flexible work schedules
  • Employee assistance program
