The Systems Engineering & Test Capabilities (SE&TC) organization is currently seeking CIWS Senior Systems Engineer to support multiple CIWS projects during development through testing. A Senior Systems Engineer responsibilities include developing Hardware and Software requirements documents as part of smaller multidisciplinary teams, developing Test Procedures/Documents for Hardware and Software Testing, executing hardware and software test activities, and collaborating with technical and program leads while executing program tasks.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 5 years of prior engineering experience.
  • Experience in sub-systems, systems engineering, requirement development, and/or requirement validation
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated exceptional customer focus.
  • Adequate communication skills, including verbal, technical writing, and engineering presentations.
  • Experience with systems engineering activities involving a complex weapons system.
  • Experience developing subsystem level requirements specifications and interface design documents.
  • Experience working with MK15 Phalanx Close-In Weapon System (CIWS).
  • Experience working with MK 31 Rolling Airframe Missile (RAM) and/or RAM Guided Missile Launching System (GMLS)

Responsibilities

  • Develop Hardware and Software Requirements and SysML Diagrams
  • Develop Hardware and Software Qualification Test Procedures/Documents
  • Coordinate with Program Management
  • Review Requirements, SysML Models, and Test Procedure/Documents
  • Participate in Hardware and Software Qualification testing with government witness
