First Century Bank is looking for a full-time Sr. Systems DevOps IT Engineer to join a growing team from our Commerce, Georgia location. First Century Bank has distinguished itself by providing specialized financial services through technology channels for our clients. This role is fast-paced and will have a direct impact on the Bank's ability to deliver our technology-enabled fintech programs and products. This is a hybrid role combining DevOps engineering (60%), application / database engineering (25%), and systems administration (15%) for FCB's Windows- and .NET-centric FinTech environment. As a senior engineer, this individual will also provide technical leadership, project ownership, and mentoring to junior DevOps engineers while driving strategic automation and platform improvements.

  • Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for C#/.NET, web, and database projects using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
  • Implement and enforce Git-based workflows: branching strategies, pull requests, peer review standards, and release processes.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, ARM/Bicep, and PowerShell DSC to provision and standardize Windows, IIS, and Azure resources.
  • Automate operational workflows and integration processes using PowerShell, C# tooling, Azure Functions, and scheduled automation frameworks.
  • Build and maintain deployment automation for .NET apps, IIS sites, Azure App Services, Window Services, and SQL database changes.
  • Integrate automated testing pipelines, including Pester for PowerShell and CI-driven validation for .NET and SQL artifacts.
  • Lead end-to-end monitoring, alerting, and observability initiatives using Datadog, New Relic, Prometheus/Grafana, or equivalent.
  • Serve as a technical escalation point during incident response, guiding troubleshooting efforts and conducting root-cause analysis and corrective action reports.
  • Ensure security, compliance (SOX, PCI), and audit-readiness across all DevOps processes, pipelines, and infrastructure components.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with software engineers, business analysts, and IT stakeholders to ensure platform reliability, performance, and scalability.
  • Provide technical leadership, helping establish engineering best practices, coding standards, IaC patterns, and DevOps maturity improvements.
  • Mentor and support junior DevOps engineers, providing guidance in scripting, automation, CICD pipelines, Azure, SQL, and system troubleshooting.
  • Manage SQL Server 2019/2022 environments across production, QA, and development.
  • Implement and maintain Always On Availability Groups and HA/DR strategies.
  • Perform SQL development, including stored procedures, ETL logic, complex T-SQL, and schema design.
  • Optimize query and index performance; analyze execution plans; refine database workloads.
  • Support database release automation, including DACPAC pipelines, migration scripts, and CI-driven SQL validation.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality database documentation, runbooks, and operational standards.
  • Work with development teams to design efficient data models and integration patterns for high-volume FinTech workloads.
  • Maintain and support Windows Server and IIS infrastructure; Linux experience is a plus.
  • Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, certificates, and authentication/authorization systems
  • Implement patching, configuration baselines, and security hardening for Windows servers and SQL Server instances.
  • Provide expertise during capacity planning, scaling initiatives, infrastructure modernization efforts, and cloud migrations.
  • Participate in cross-team initiatives and special projects providing senior-level guidance and architectural insight.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives, manage priorities, and deliver complex automation or infrastructure projects.
  • Ownership of assigned projects from requirements gathering through implementation, documentation, and post-launch support.
  • Ability to mentor, train, and support junior DevOps engineers and influence team engineering culture.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Track record of introducing process improvements, DevOps best practices, and operational efficiencies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 7-10 years of relevant DevOps/Systems/Database experience, ideally in a regulated or enterprise environment.
  • Expert-level experience with PowerShell scripting and automation, including advanced modules, APIs and DSC.
  • Hands-on experience with C#/.NET build and deployment workflows.
  • Strong SQL Server administration and T-SQL development experience.
  • Proficiency with Git, GitHub, Azure Repos, and modern branching/peer review workflows.
  • Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
  • Azure or AWS infrastructure experience (Azure strongly preferred.
  • Experience with containers (Docker/Kubernetes, monitoring systems, and cloud networking/security fundamentals.
  • Advanced PowerShell: DSC, Pester, dbatools
  • IIS management and tuning
  • Experience with API integrations, REST, and web service automation.
  • Experience supporting web development (HTML/CSS/JS fundamentals, build workflows)
  • Azure certifications: AZ-104 (Azure Administrator), AZ-204 (Azure Developer), AZ-305 (Azure Architect), AZ-400 (DevOps Engineer Expert), DP-300 (Azure Database Administrator)
  • Microsoft certifications: SC-100 / SC-200 (Security)
  • Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert
  • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator
  • AWS equivalents (SysOps, Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer)
  • DevOps, cloud, or automation-related certifications such as: HashiCorp Terraform Associate, Linux Foundation Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
  • ITIL Foundation or service management certifications
  • Experience in FinTech, banking, or other highly regulated environments.
  • Experience leading technical teams or mentoring engineers.
  • Demonstrated experience modernizing legacy processes or driving DevOps transformation efforts.
