About The Position

Primary responsibility for the technology design and application development of comprehensive systems enhancements of application systems. Will be heavily involved in the design and development of new and/or maintenance of existing application systems. Qualifications Education: Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience, in the assessment of the AVP of Information Systems. Technical knowledge of hardware and software platforms. Experience: Three to five years analyst experience across several business functions is needed. Previous experience in system design and implementation is needed. ERP development experience is required. Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of IS academic systems, System Development Life Cycle methodologies, Business Entities/Relationships, and Client Server application development tools and methodologies. Skills: Good written, interpersonal and interorganizational skills. Ability to interact with all levels of management, faculty, staff, and students. Comprehensive understanding of information reporting and institutional business processes is required. Good understanding and experience with Graphical User Interfaces (GUI) standards and client/server development tools.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, design and develop software as necessary to support implementation of existing and new systems.
  • Work with Director of Program Services to ensure that user department requirements are effectively communicated and target dates attainable.
  • Work with other IS staff as appropriate for a given application system project.
  • Work with users as appropriate for a given project.
  • Prepare system design and user documentation.
  • Work with Decision Support Specialist to develop test cases, scenarios, and scripts to ensure quality of application.
  • Prepare SQLs, special reports, etc as necessary to support implementation of systems and respond to user requests.
  • Knowledge of and ability to work with current Ellucian Colleague platform, Visual Basic, SQL, Cold Fusion, HTML and other technologies as they relate to project development and/or maintenance of application systems.
  • Operational knowledge of Active Directory, Sharepoint, and other O.S. environments as it relates to testing and implementation of application systems.
  • Stay abreast of technological advances in Information Technology and how they relate to the application development and implementation of application systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Program Services.
