About The Position

The Senior Systems Administrator at Presque Isle Downs & Casino is responsible for overseeing all IT systems, equipment, and peripherals across the property. This role involves providing hardware and software support to both employees and guests, ensuring seamless operations, and managing repairs and system administration. The ideal candidate will be skilled in IT troubleshooting and dedicated to delivering high-quality tech support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent combination of education and technical training and experience.
  • 1 - 3 years' experience in a technical support role.
  • Demonstrated intermediate-level technical skills in all platforms.
  • Ability to be trained in multiple platforms.
  • Basic knowledge of computer operations and user environments.
  • Advanced-level skills related to troubleshooting on multiple platforms, problem determination, and restoration techniques.
  • Intermediate knowledge of network topologies.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Intermediate analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Well organized and detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task.
  • Available to work in a 24/7 environment and be on call as required.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide primary support for sports wagering connectivity and the Video Distribution System.
  • Provide first and second level support to users for the applications used by the company.
  • Analyze management needs regarding application systems and recommend solutions to business.
  • Coordinate development efforts between the end user and IT development and support staff.
  • Manage all aspects of project management and coordination for assigned projects, ensuring development and implementation of detailed project plans.
  • Investigate and evaluate systems issues reported by clients and coordinate their resolution.
  • Fulfill the quality assurance function for new and changed application systems being implemented.
  • Coordinate client testing and training for new or changed systems.
  • Provide ad hoc reporting for client departments as needed.
  • Assist in the development of departmental standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist in the training and development of IT Specialists.
  • Work with vendor support personnel to ensure product changes are tested and successfully implemented.
  • Act as the property advocate to ensure assigned properties receive the required level of support from IT and product vendors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
