About The Position

The IT Systems Administrator is a key role within a tech company, responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and managing the company's software, hardware, and networks. The goal is to ensure that our IT infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently, supporting the organization in its operational and strategic objectives. This role requires a blend of technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication to manage various systems and resolve IT issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a System Administrator or in a similar role.
  • Hands-on experience administering and managing MDM solutions for both Windows and macOS environments.
  • Proficient in using Identity and Access Management (IAM) tools like Okta.
  • Proven ability to automate complex and repetitive tasks using infrastructure as code and Okta Workflows, Bettercloud and other platforms.
  • Hands-on experience in managing and optimizing Google Workspace environments, including user administration, security, and automation, to support organizational scalability and efficiency.
  • Skilled in network management and troubleshooting, ensuring seamless connectivity and issue resolution.
  • Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage one's time effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to communicate complex information to non-technical colleagues.
  • Continuous learning mindset to stay updated with the latest technologies and IT best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
  • Ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
  • Monitor and verify the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes.
  • Manage and configure network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
  • Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, and latency) and test for weaknesses.
  • Set up user accounts, permissions, and passwords. Resolve problems reported by end-users.
  • Implement and maintain security protocols and procedures to prevent potential threats.
  • Enforce and scale out identity and access management controls through automation.
  • Apply operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes.
  • Install and configure anti-virus software and malware protection.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
  • Maintain documentation and technical specifications for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure.
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
