ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for managing secure, high-performance Unix/Linux environments supporting mission-critical operations Perform daily administration of Unix/Linux systems across classified and unclassified environments. Manage system backup and recovery to ensure data integrity and business continuity. Conduct basic software management, including patching, updates, and version control. Implement security management protocols, including firewall configurations and vulnerability mitigation. Maintain library management for system documentation and software repositories. Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards under the IAT III designation, including system hardening and audit readiness. Install and configure hardware components and COTS software across operational systems. Operate systems in diverse environments, including virtualized and bare-metal deployments. Conduct performance tuning, resource allocation, and troubleshooting across hardware, software, and network layers. Administer systems using TCP/IP and other major network protocols. Utilize network security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and vulnerability scanners. Stay current on attack methods and detection strategies to proactively secure systems. Manage enterprise systems and ensuring operational availability. Support cybersecurity posture through configuration and monitoring. Advise on system architecture and integration strategies.
