Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced System Administrator to join our Minotaur team in Hanover, MD. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in system administration and be part of a small team of system administrators ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of our systems. This position will support a mission management tool called the Minotaur Mission Processor. Minotaur ingests data from various sensors on manned and unmanned surveillance aircraft to enhance an operator’s ability to identify tracks from various on-board sensors, from both sea and land, that is utilized in all branches of the military.   • Member of a team of system administrators to maintain the reliability, security, and efficiency of our systems
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices for system administrators
  • Plan and execute software upgrades, patches, and security fixes in a timely manner
  • Manage and monitor system performance, capacity, and availability to ensure maximum uptime
  • Automate routine tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention
  • Provide technical support and troubleshoot complex problems related to systems and applications
  • Work closely with corporate IT teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of systems
  • Keep up-to-date with new technologies and trends in system administration and provide recommendations for improving our infrastructure
  • Manage and configure local and remote-site network switches and Fortinet Fortigate VPN endpoints
  • 6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Linux administration (e.g. Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu)
  • Experience with virtualization (e.g. KVM, VMware, Hyper-V)
  • Experience with configuring, diagnosing and repairing computer systems
  • Strong knowledge with scripting concepts and languages
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US level Secret clearance
  • An active US level Secret clearance
  • Demonstrated expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), including system installation, configuration, patch management, performance tuning, and troubleshooting in enterprise environments
