Quantum Research International, Inc. (Quantum) is a certified DoD Contractor providing services and products to US/Allied governments and industry in various areas including Cybersecurity, High Performance Computing Systems, Cloud Services, Space and Ground Support Systems, Aviation Systems, Missile Systems, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Systems, and Audio Visual Systems. Quantum is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to support the Quantum Enterprise Network in Huntsville, AL. The role involves ensuring the long-term requirements of systems operations and administration are included in the overall information systems planning of the organization.

  • Responsible for activities related to system administration.
  • Ensures long-term requirements of systems operations and administration are included in the overall information systems planning.
  • Responsible for the installation, maintenance, configuration, and integrity of server hardware and software.
  • Monitors and controls the performance and status of the network resources.
  • Implements operating system enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system.
  • Develops and promotes standard operating procedures.
  • Develops and maintains a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation.
  • BS degree preferred in Computer Science/IT, MIS, Systems Administration, Engineering or equivalent field of study with 5 years of experience for mid-level Systems Administrator and 7 years plus for Senior level, in lieu of degree 7 plus years of experience mid-level and 9 years plus for senior level with certifications may be accepted.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft M365 tenant management, Entra ID, InTune, Defender.
  • Must be proficient in all aspects of Windows Server Administration, including VM specification and creation, Active Directory administration, Windows Server Update Server, Group Policy, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), Internet Information Services (IIS).
  • Must have excellent troubleshooting skills including query local Windows event viewer and M365 Security logs.
  • Must be very familiar with Kerberos, CIFS and NFS file share, RDP, WMI, and PowerShell.
  • Must be familiar with MFA, Single Sign On.
  • Configuration management using Ansible.
  • Selected candidates must be able to obtain/maintain DoD Security clearance.
  • Experience with Powershell scripts for maintenance tasks across multiple sites.
  • Experience with Windows imaging using WinPE.
  • Experience in DNS, DHCP scope management.
  • Experience with SQL server.
  • Experience with VMWare deployment and management.
  • Experience with SolarWinds network and systems monitoring.
  • Experience with Duo multi-factor authentication.
  • Experience with NetApp storage configuration and management.
  • Experience with Commvault backup solution.
