Project Starline (now Google Beam) is developing the next generation of AI-driven telecommunications devices. Our innovative platform enables co-presence through 3D displays, multi-camera capture, face tracking, and cloud-based rendering. We are creating an experience that teleports users across the globe, and we are looking for a skilled Senior System Test Engineer to join our team. This role requires a proven background in system testing within the unified communications and video conferencing space. You'll be instrumental in ensuring the quality and reliability of our groundbreaking products.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in test planning and strategy development.
  • 2+ years of experience in test automation using at least one programming language.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting complex system integration issues through log analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with the Linux command-line interface (CLI).
  • Required experience with Python and/or Bash scripting.
  • Expertise with defect tracking tools, defect management, and release triage methodologies.
  • Experience with bug triage and managing prioritized defect hotlists.
  • Filing reproducible bug reports and reviewing for completeness and understanding how to set and manage priorities and route to the proper engineering team.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic startup environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading test engineering efforts for cloud-based applications from planning to delivery.
  • Experience working with automation teams to identify and prioritize test cases for automation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage software testing activities, ensuring all project deliverables are high quality and accurate.
  • Contribute, organize and execute comprehensive test strategies and test plans.
  • Work directly with developers and product managers to understand new feature requirements.
  • Translate product requirements and new features into detailed test cases to ensure maximum test coverage.
  • Represent the Quality Assurance (QA) team at release meetings, providing critical data to inform go/no-go decisions.
  • Continuously improve existing software testing processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Drive critical bug resolution to quickly unblock releases and maintain project velocity.
