In this role, you’ll support Micron’s engineering design teams by managing and improving the Linux compute environment that powers their workflows. You’ll help ensure high availability, reduce complexity through standards, and push automation to new levels. This is a hands-on position where your expertise directly impacts engineering productivity and innovation.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years managing enterprise RedHat Linux environments (RHEL 8/9 preferred)
  • Strong scripting ability in Shell, Python, or similar languages
  • Experience with LDAP and VMware virtualization
  • Hands‑on hardware maintenance experience and ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with cloud‑hosted Linux servers
  • Knowledge of Kickstart and configuration management tools (Puppet preferred)
  • Experience with FlexLm license management or revision control systems
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills and a strong focus on continuous improvement
  • Project management experience

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high‑quality Linux compute support for engineering design teams
  • Provide technical direction and escalation for technologies in the Linux compute space
  • Automate system builds, configuration management, and operational tasks
  • Provision physical and virtual systems and maintain hardware as needed
  • Monitor and improve the overall health, performance, and reliability of Unix/Linux environments
