About The Position

RTX, the world's largest aerospace and defense company with 185,000 employees, is seeking a Senior System Engineer. Raytheon, a part of RTX, brings over 100 years of engineering expertise to deliver solutions for national defense. This position involves managing moderately sized projects or processes with minimal oversight and contributing to new products, processes, or standards for customer integrations. The role operates in a SCIF environment with flexible work hours to support work/life balance. The Senior Systems Engineer will provide systems engineering and integration support, covering project assessment, planning, coordination, scheduling, and implementation from inception through system transition. The role requires detailed information gathering, analysis, and investigation to resolve complex problems and issues. Communication with various program, contractor, and government stakeholders is essential, guiding parties on operational policies and procedures. A primary objective is to manage system integration projects and supply reliable data to customers for informed decision-making regarding the installation, integration checkout, and testing of operational system modifications and upgrades.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 5 years of prior engineering experience or equivalent experience.
  • Systems installation, integration, and test experience.
  • Experience with project management.
  • Experience working collaboratively in team environment (Government, Military, SETA, and Contractor).
  • RFC impact review and assessment experience.
  • Experience in enterprise level planning and implementation.
  • An active and transferable TS/SCI CI Poly U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for the required security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Manages moderately sized projects or processes with minimal oversight.
  • Provides measurable input to new products, processes, or standards in operational plans to implement customer integrations and/or objectives.
  • Provides systems engineering and integration support to assess, plan, coordinate, schedule and implement projects from inception through system transition.
  • Gathers detailed information, analyzes, and investigates problems and issues to understand them and determine the appropriate resolution.
  • Communicates with many levels of program, other contractor and government stakeholders.
  • Works to positively guide parties within and outside of the job function at an operational level regarding policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Manages system integration projects.
  • Provides reliable data to the Customer enabling them to make informed decisions regarding the installation, integration checkout and test of operational system modifications and upgrades.
