About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Systems Engineer to join our Global IT Organization, specializing in Linux and AIX server environments. This role is critical to ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of our data center operations. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to support server deployments, automation initiatives, and ongoing system maintenance.

Requirements

  • Installation, configuration and administration (AIX Servers, RedHat, Centos)
  • Scripting and other automation (ie Shell, Ansible, Perl or Python)
  • Proven experience with AIX and Linux system administration in enterprise environments.
  • Hands-on expertise with AWX/Ansible Tower for infrastructure automation.
  • Solid understanding of Red Hat Satellite for patching and system management.
  • Experience managing FreeIPA or similar identity management platforms.
  • Strong working knowledge of IBM Power Systems, HMC configuration, and VIOS administration.
  • Familiarity with audit controls, compliance frameworks, and security best practices.
  • Strong grasp of server monitoring tools, patch management, and disaster recovery protocols.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in project-based and operational settings.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy, configure, and maintain AIX and Linux servers in a high-availability data center environment.
  • Ensure server health, uptime, and performance through proactive monitoring and disaster recovery planning.
  • Apply routine patches and security remediations in compliance with organizational policies.
  • Develop and manage standardized OS templates; automate virtual machine provisioning.
  • Manage configuration automation using AWX/Ansible Tower, including playbook development, role creation, and inventory management.
  • Administer Red Hat Satellite for system provisioning, patching, and lifecycle management across Linux environments.
  • Oversee FreeIPA for centralized identity, authentication, and access control across Unix-based systems.
  • Operate and manage IBM Power Systems infrastructure, including configuration and maintenance of Hardware Management Consoles (HMC).
  • Administer VIOS (Virtual I/O Server) environments to support virtualized AIX workloads and optimize resource allocation.
  • Implement and maintain audit controls to ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory standards, and security frameworks.
  • Conduct regular audits of system configurations, access permissions, and operational practices to identify and remediate gaps.
  • Collaborate with project teams on technical design, rollout strategies, and implementation of server infrastructure.
  • Handle daily operations including change requests, incident resolution, system monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Document server configurations, procedures, and operational standards.
  • Embrace DevOps methodologies to automate and streamline routine tasks and system workflows.
