About The Position
As a Senior System Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of enterprise server environments. You will manage Linux and AIX infrastructures, implement automation solutions, and support high-availability data center operations. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will oversee system deployments, configuration management, and ongoing maintenance while driving efficiency through DevOps practices. Your expertise will help maintain compliance with security and operational standards, streamline processes, and optimize server performance. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer passionate about automation, system reliability, and operational excellence in a collaborative, high-impact environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience with AIX and Linux system administration (Red Hat, CentOS) in enterprise environments
- Hands-on expertise with AWX/Ansible Tower and infrastructure automation
- Experience with Red Hat Satellite for patching and system management
- Knowledge of FreeIPA or similar identity management platforms
- Strong understanding of IBM Power Systems, HMC configuration, and VIOS administration
- Familiarity with audit controls, compliance frameworks, and security best practices
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell, Perl, or Python
- Solid grasp of server monitoring tools, patch management, and disaster recovery protocols
- Excellent documentation, communication, and collaborative skills
Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and maintain Linux and AIX servers in high-availability environments
- Monitor server performance, uptime, and health; implement disaster recovery procedures
- Apply patches and security remediations to ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards
- Develop standardized OS templates and automate virtual machine provisioning
- Manage configuration automation using AWX/Ansible Tower and administer Red Hat Satellite for system lifecycle management
- Oversee identity management using FreeIPA and manage IBM Power Systems, HMC, and VIOS environments
- Conduct system audits, document configurations, and implement operational best practices
- Collaborate with project teams on infrastructure design, rollout strategies, and deployment
- Troubleshoot system issues, handle change requests, and maintain daily operational workflows
