About The Position

We are currently seeking a Senior System Administrator in support of an Army customer in Huntsville, AL. This position requires experience with a wide variety of enterprise technologies with an emphasis on delivering and supporting Windows, Linux and cloud based infrastructures. The successful candidate should have a proven track record of designing systems that meet complex requirements as well as planning, testing and delivering solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems (or related field) and 10+ years of experience
• Active Security clearance
• Active CompTIA Security+ Certification or equivalent or greater
• An acceptable Computing Environment certification
• Experience with VMware ESXi, View, SRM and vCloud
• Experience with a wide variety of Windows and Unix operating systems
• Experience supporting Cameo and MagicDraw deployments
• Networking concepts knowledge
• General Storage Area Network knowledge
• Good documentation and communication skills
• Self-motivated and willing to take ownership of issues

Responsibilities

• Create solutions that align IT systems with the needs of the organization
• Design virtual systems to include both servers and desktops
• Design the deployment and maintenance of highly available virtual desktop solutions
• Support implementation of the Software Defined Data Center using VMware technologies
• Support the deployment of systems and services within a commercial cloud service such as Azure or AWS
• Design and support system engineering solutions
• Design, deploy and support DevSecOps environments
• Deploy and maintain solutions within DoD compliance parameters
• Develop documentation artifacts and plans
• Set standards for resource and capacity management of all enterprise systems
• Provide performance tuning strategies and their implementation
• Participate in the design and implementation of disaster recovery solutions
• Work with managers to ensure projects are completed successfully and on time
