About The Position

Lake Superior Consulting is seeking a Senior Survey Data Technician to join our team. Coordinate the Survey team data support activities to ensure all deliverables are completed on time and reviewed to client requirements. Maintain Survey data processes and ensure templates are updated including all support documentation. Mentor junior Survey Data Technicians and help process survey crew data utilizing Microsoft office and Autodesk Civil 3D software.

Requirements

• AAS degree in civil survey, drafting and design, engineering, or related field
• Have an intermediate understanding of AutoCAD (Civil 3D)
• Understanding of GIS principles
• Understanding of document management principles
• Ability to learn new software
• Completes projects using quality and ethical principles and techniques
• Ability to hold and maintain a valid driver’s license
• Ability to pass a DOT and company required drug and alcohol test
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel and Outlook

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the Survey team task list
• Guide and mentor Survey Data Interns activities
• Ensure that all data and deliverables are reviewed and approved through the data workflows
• Maintain and develop survey standards, codes, and templates
• Communicate with field personnel to ensure data standards are being maintained
• Communicate with Project Leads to understand data requests and requirements
• Proactively provide status updates, discuss challenges, and address data revisions
• Perform a wide range of drafting tasks in Autodesk Civil 3D
• Prepare plans, layouts, assembly drawings, detail drawings and sketches
• Responsible for maintaining accurate design and drawing archives and revision history
• Obtain a general understanding of any overall project goals, constraints, and schedule requirements
• Support survey crew in a professional and proficient manner
• Be professional when interacting with clients, contractors, and landowners
• Follow all safety procedures put into place
