About the role: We are seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer that will report to the Global Supplier Quality Manager and will be based out of our Franklin Park, IL headquarters. The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer will primarily ensure procured components meet customer requirements and support the core business, while driving continuous improvement.The SR-SQE will operate dailywithin various exciting new product development projects, while optimizing legacy products within production. Within this role, one will be expected to actively troubleshoot and lead cross functional improvement initiatives. There will be a need to expeditiously investigate production issues with supplier follow up to address root cause and minimize line interruptions as well.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ Years Relevant Experience in quality and manufacturing.
  • Ability to Travel 10% - 20%.
  • Good written and communication skills.
  • New Product Development and Introduction experience.
  • Strong skills in statistics and problem solving.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain quality systems, testing protocols, & inspection activities designed to assure that products meet the print specifications.
  • Follow through with external corrective actions from issuing to resolution, designed to improve or maintain products, processes, and specifications.
  • Champion the continuous improvement and standardization of the incoming inspection processes.
  • Facilitate and own APQP techniques including but not limited to Failure Mode effect analysis, and Production Parts Approval Process within New Product Development.
  • Apply project management skills to assure timely and efficient execution of all innovation and renovation projects.
  • Participate in engineering change meetings to ensure awareness of design changes and impact to the customer.
  • Create and track detailed reports on supplier performance, including defect rates.
  • Perform on site evaluations of supplier production processes to identify improvement opportunities within the supply chain.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and verification of corrective action implementation.
  • Investigate supplier scrap – Pareto/identify trends to drive improvement.
  • Direct work instructions for Inspectors, Technicians, and employees assigned to the quality function.
  • Deliver a quality focus to new business initiatives and projects to address customer needs into an effective solution.
  • Collaborate with Quality Review Board to review and analyze customer dissatisfaction – Leverage CAPA to determine the nature and source of the problems.
  • Train support personnel across Sloan facilities.
  • Flexibility to travel domestic and internationally 10% - 20%.
  • Actively lead as a quality representative in the qualification of potential suppliers. both domestic and International to support Sloan Valve company core business needs.
  • Responsibility to potentially manage 1-3 employees.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required.
