About The Position

The Purpose of the Supplier Food Safety group is to protect our Guests and Cast Members by ensuring that all food delivered to Disney is safe! We support world-wide supplier pre-qualification process and provide ongoing monitoring of supplier high risk facilities. We inspect our supplier's facilities to verify compliance to regulatory requirements and Disney food safety standards.

Requirements

  • 5 or more years of food manufacturing Quality Control, food safety auditing, food science, and/or equivalent food safety experience.
  • Certified Food Safety Manager required but should possess potential and desire to acquire other appropriate credentials, licenses, and certifications.
  • Food Safety Auditor Training and HACCP Training/Certification.
  • Preventative Controls Qualified Individual.
  • Proficient with MS Office suite of programs.
  • Proven knowledge of hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP).
  • Knowledge of Global Food Safety Initiative and benchmarked schemes.
  • Understanding of food manufacturing including but not limited to: Good Manufacturing Practices, Standard Operating Procedures, pest management, sanitation, personal hygiene, food defense, traceability and recall, food safety training, allergen control program, labeling, microbiological testing, receiving, storage, and distribution.
  • Knowledge of and ability to interpret regulatory requirements and international food safety standards.
  • Strong technical, verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or equivalent experience in food science, public health or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections of new and existing supplier facility locations to resolve compliance with Disney food safety requirements and regulatory laws.
  • Conduct food truck/caterer food safety review, audit and approval process.
  • Assist in reviewing third-party food safety audits and acquire/review corrective action plans.
  • Prepare technical audit reports detailing all noted non-conformances.
  • Verify corrective actions are implemented for all noted deficiencies and that the root causes are addressed.
  • Provide direction to suppliers to help develop their food safety programs as applicable.
  • Proactively address supply chain food safety issues to protect the Disney brand and mitigate risk.
  • Act as consultant and SME for Disney locations including Disney Food Warehouses, Disney Epcot Greenhouse, etc.
  • Partner with internal suppliers with auditing, third party audit preparation (e.g., BRC, Primus) and corrective action submissions.
  • Assist with special projects, writing/reviewing standards and global alignment.
  • Aid with supplier food complaint investigations and resolutions.
  • Serve as a backup in the event of a food recall or withdrawal.
  • Research regulatory issues and raise critical food safety issues to Leadership.
  • Prepare supply chain metrics, reports and key performance indicators.
