Your Impact: As Axon's Senior Supplier Quality Development Engineer, you'll be a key technical leader ensuring our global suppliers deliver world-class quality across our portfolio - including Conducted Electrical Weapons, Cartridges, and Counter Drone systems. You'll work hands-on with suppliers and internal teams to qualify new partners, drive continuous improvement, and build the quality foundation for our next generation of products. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Chemical, or Materials Engineering.
  • 5-7+ years in supplier quality, supplier development, or manufacturing engineering in a hardware environment (aerospace, automotive, electronics, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of QMS frameworks (ISO9001, AS9100, or TS16949) and quality engineering tools (PFMEA, Control Plans, DOE, 8D, Root Cause Analysis).
  • Proven ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, specifications, and ECOs.
  • Experience leading supplier audits, PPAP/FAIR submissions, and implementing process capability improvements (Cpk, Ppk, Gage R&R).
  • Hands-on experience with PCBAs, injection molding, electromechanical assemblies, or metal components.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Due to the nature of work involving ITAR controlled supplier and data, this position requires a candidate to be a U.S. Person defined by U.S. Export Control Laws

Responsibilities

  • Lead supplier qualification, audits, and ongoing performance improvement across Axon's supply base.
  • Partner closely with Design Engineering, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing to support new product introductions (NPI) from prototype through production ramp.
  • Drive supplier readiness reviews and lead DFx, PPAP, and FAIR activities to ensure process and product qualification.
  • Assess and strengthen supplier inspection capabilities (IQC/OQC/IPQC) and process controls using data-driven quality tools.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and issue corrective actions (SCARs, NCMRs) to prevent recurrence of quality issues.
  • Collaborate with suppliers on continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, cost of poor quality, and improve delivery performance.
  • Review engineering drawings and manufacturing processes to verify compliance and manufacturability.
  • Track and report supplier quality metrics to key stakeholders in Operations, Quality, and Program Management.
  • Support supplier development activities across U.S. and Europe, ensuring smooth NPI to mass production transitions.
