About The Position

The Senior Supervisor is the on-shift owner responsible for multiple operational areas/rooms. This role coordinates cross-area execution of the daily production plan, aligns labor allocation and work sequence across assigned areas, and ensures adherence to food safety, workplace safety, and quality standards. The Senior Supervisor directs incident escalation and resolution, while coaching and supporting Supervisors and crew/team leaders to drive performance and accountability. The role also ensures accurate recordkeeping, timekeeping, and completion of performance reviews for direct reports, including Supervisors and assigned hourly staff.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or relevant work experience preferred.
  • 2–3 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, including providing constructive feedback and managing individual and team performance.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computers and operational systems required.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 30 pounds.
  • Comfortable working in a production or warehouse environment with exposure to dust, food allergens, varying temperatures (including cold storage), loud noise levels, and occasional fumes or chemicals.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing job assignments, schedules, and departmental needs; weekends and overtime may be required.
  • Ability to work in a safety-sensitive role, including compliance with pre-employment and ongoing drug testing.
  • Commitment to honest, respectful communication and adherence to company attendance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Convert the daily plan into shift-level labor/line assignments and sequencing across multiple rooms; approve cross-room rebalancing to protect throughput and changeover timing.
  • Lead start-of-shift and tier huddles; communicate targets, risks, and countermeasures; verify hour-by-hour boards are maintained by area supervisors.
  • Monitor attainment at the shift level; direct recovery plans when performance slips, including resequencing and resource reallocation between rooms.
  • Coach and develop Supervisor, Crew Leads, and Team Leads; verify training and certification matrices are current.
  • Deliver PDRs and administer corrective actions/PIAs in partnership with HR/ER; ensure documentation accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Enforce safety/GMP/allergen controls; ensure holds/rejects and line clearance are executed and documented correctly.
  • Inspect materials/products/equipment; arrange repairs or escalate to Maintenance; confirm effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Own the shift escalation chain: ensure incidents are contained immediately by area leaders, assign investigation ownership (typically Supervisor authoring for their room), and verify closure of root cause and countermeasures across the shift.
  • Confer with other supervisors/managers to coordinate inter-department work; remove systemic constraints; champion continuous improvement and waste reduction.
