About The Position
The Bulk Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the timely and efficient movement of Global Tyson products through hopper and tanker trucking transportation. This position requires collaboration and cross-training with Bulk Operations Supervisors involved in rail transportation. The responsibilities include ordering refrigerated box cars for export shipments and ensuring cross-functional collaboration and alignment on strategic plans that provide Tyson with a competitive advantage. The supervisor is tasked with developing and improving working relationships with various internal and external business partners, including plants, cold storage shipping locations, procurement, finance, operations, IT, and engineering. The role is essential for maintaining efficient plant operations, which encompasses the effective movement of inbound and outbound products throughout the Tyson network. This includes managing plant inventory and the placement of tank and hopper trucks to support total network efficiency. The supervisor also promotes and supports technological and automation initiatives aimed at enhancing product movement through the Global network. Continuous improvement and change management are key aspects of this position, as is supporting Tyson's global transportation and overall company initiatives. The Bulk Operations Supervisor is responsible for covering outbound shipment orders of bulk products to customers, requiring a high level of collaboration with rail counterparts, plants, sales, billing, and contractors. The supervisor is expected to model Tyson's values and culture while building strong relationships and trust with both internal and external team members and business partners.
