We have an opportunity for a Senior Supervisor, Materials Control Lab to be based in Columbus, GA. The Senior Supervisor, Materials Control Lab is responsible for managing the entire quality engineering process of assigned parts and supervises the Material Control Lab (Materials Testing)

  • Supervise hourly non-exempt employees on assigned shift; mentor and develop hourly non-exempt employees
  • Respond to technical and process concerns/issues; review process changes or conformity to requirements
  • Coordinate and perform root cause analysis to solve manufacturing process issues
  • Facilitate and prepare for external audits
  • Work with customers regarding quality concerns
  • Participate in cross functional team projects to improve the overall organization and to develop a career path and leadership
  • Update and track the performance of incoming and outgoing specimens
  • Review of engineering documentation to ensure it contains the necessary quality assurance and customer provisions and criteria
  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum 5 years experience in an engineering, manufacturing, materials management, quality or closely related industrial environment or an Associate's degree and 7 or more years experience in an engineering, manufacturing, materials management, quality or closely related industrial environment
  • In absence of a degree, a high school diploma/GED and 9 or more years experience in an engineering, manufacturing, materials management, quality or closely related industrial environment
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, experience with Kaizen events or experience with a continuous improvement program (CORE); Value Stream Mapping, RCCA, 6S - Workplace Organization, Continuous Flow Manufacturing, Set-up Reduction, Total Productive Maintenance and Mistake Proofing
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Understand and interpret engineering technical data to provide guidance to cross functional teams
  • Experience with SAP and other IT Quality systems
  • Thorough understanding of audits and audit preparation
  • Experience with dimensional inspection, blueprint interpretation and/or GD&T, and Pyrometry
  • Knowledge of Document Control and Calibration systems.
  • Ability to query data from database systems.
  • Able to interpret manufacturing drawings
  • Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment of aerospace products
  • Experience using CORE tools
  • Prior experience in a team lead/supervisory capacity
