About SDC Umatilla Located in Umatilla, OR, SDC Umatilla is Sabey Data Centers’ newest campus in the Columbia River Cloud Corridor. This two-building, 714,540-square-foot development will deliver more than 150MW of capacity with an estimated average PUE of ~1.3, offering highly efficient, resilient infrastructure supported by diverse fiber routes and a seismically stable, energy-efficient region. Designed to support colocation, build-to-suit, powered shell, and remote hands services, this campus represents the next generation of scalable, modular data center construction. As Senior Superintendent, you will play a key leadership role in bringing this high-profile campus to life. About This Role: As Senior Superintendent, you are the field leader responsible for delivering complex commercial construction projects safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards. Beyond execution, you will coach and develop Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, and Foremen - building bench strength and elevating performance across the jobsite. You will serve as the primary on-site authority for construction operations and safety, coordinating subcontractors, driving schedule adherence, maintaining quality control, and ensuring seamless collaboration with project management. This role is ideal for a seasoned construction leader with deep experience in mechanical and electrical systems and a passion for mentoring others while delivering technically sophisticated projects.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of field experience in commercial construction with progressive supervisory responsibility
  • Strong background in mechanical and electrical systems, ideally within mission-critical or technically complex environments
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Science or comparable professional experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in project scheduling and construction software platforms
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint)
  • Proven ability to manage fast-track project delivery without compromising quality or safety
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, including mentoring and developing field teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels of an organization
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize effectively
  • Customer-focused mindset with the ability to professionally interact with clients, tenants, and subcontractors
  • Commitment to continuous learning and openness to leveraging AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance performance

Responsibilities

  • Leading all field operations to ensure projects are constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule
  • Providing input to and driving the project construction schedule; proactively identifying and communicating impacts
  • Training, mentoring, and developing Superintendents and field staff to strengthen project execution and leadership capability
  • Holding primary responsibility for jobsite safety in partnership with the Corporate Safety Director
  • Supervising and coordinating subcontractors and vendors to ensure contract compliance, quality control, and schedule alignment
  • Managing labor crews to maintain productivity, accountability, and professional standards
  • Scheduling and coordinating material deliveries and logistics while safeguarding against jobsite loss or theft
  • Leading weekly subcontractor meetings to align trades, resolve conflicts, and maintain progress
  • Reviewing and approving overtime requests and coordinating required security clearances
  • Maintaining daily field reports and collaborating closely with the Project Manager
  • Driving proactive quality control, pre-punch processes, and timely closeout to minimize final punch lists
  • Assisting with bid document reviews and constructability feedback as needed
  • Reviewing subcontractor/vendor invoices in coordination with project management
  • Documenting field changes and as-built conditions
