About The Position

Leidos is seeking an Senior Substation Site Civil Engineer to join our site/civil department to work on a variety of electric utility projects. Typical projects involve site/civil design engineering for both large and small scale utility projects. Candidates who have commercial/industrial site development experience will also be considered for the position. Candidate will primarily function as a senior engineer performing design reviews on a regular basis, as well as developing junior staff members, and contributing to bids and proposal development. This role will also consist of taking a responsible engineer role on main client projects, overseeing the work and ensuring quality control on design packages. Site-visits to client substation facilities are expected to be part of the work, along with occasional travel for client meetings and industry related events. Experience in front-facing client operations such as lunch and learns, and kick-off meetings if preferred. Candidate must comply with quality control and safe work practices and maintain compliance with project scope, schedule and budget expectations. This position will be a senior member of a design team comprised of engineers, designers, and drafting technicians. Location: Candidate MUST reside in the Framingham, MA area or Walled Lake, MI area to work a 50/50 hybrid schedule .

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Civil Engineering
  • Engineer with 4+ years of directly applicable civil-site design experience
  • EI/EIT certification preferred
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D software and/or MicroStation OpenSite Designer software
  • Experience with Hydraflow, ICPR, or various other hydrologic and hydraulic modeling & design programs
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Acrobat, and other general software tools
  • Strong analytical and technical writing skills
  • Team player with ability to communicate effectively with clients and staff
  • Able to execute projects and handle clients successfully with limited supervision
  • Willing to travel, up to 25%
  • Authorized to work in U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • Land development permitting including NPDES, stormwater management, and knowledge of other typical local, state, and/or federal regulations and permit requirements
