About The Position

ExecuPOWER is seeking a Senior Substation Project Manager to lead complex utility projects from kickoff through closeout. This hybrid role offers a mix of time in our King of Prussia office, client site engagement, and remote flexibility. You will play a critical leadership role in delivering high-voltage substation projects—driving execution, strengthening client relationships, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline
  • 10+ years of substation experience within the utility industry
  • Proven ability to manage large, complex projects across multiple workstreams
  • Strong background in project controls, financial oversight, and scheduling
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
  • Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving ability

Nice To Haves

  • PMP Certification (completed or in progress)
  • Experience with project management tools such as Primavera, MS Project, or Deltek Vantagepoint
  • Advanced knowledge of project controls, forecasting, and risk management

Responsibilities

  • Lead full lifecycle delivery of substation projects, including engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout
  • Ensure alignment across scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives
  • Monitor and manage project budgets, including capital expenditure authorizations and revisions
  • Track contractor performance and resource utilization
  • Partner with Portfolio and Work Management teams to develop and maintain project schedules
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of key project documentation, including: Contracts and requisitions, Bills of Material (BOM), Task Authorizations and Engineering Work Requests
  • Provide regular updates to internal leadership and client stakeholders
  • Communicate project priorities, risks, and performance metrics
  • Serve as a trusted partner to clients, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives
  • Oversee QA/QC programs and ensure compliance with industry and client standards
  • Review and approve contractor procedures and deliverables
  • Identify risks proactively and implement mitigation strategies
  • Lead project closeout activities, including documentation, audits, and performance evaluation
  • Ensure successful delivery and realization of project objectives
