Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in substation commissioning within the utilities industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of high voltage equipment, protection systems, and control schemes.
  • Strong understanding of industry standards and regulations related to substation commissioning.
  • Proven ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and ability to handle multiple commissioning projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the commissioning process of high voltage electrical substations from pre-commissioning through to energization and handover.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules.
  • Conduct detailed testing and troubleshooting of substation equipment including transformers, circuit breakers, relays, and control systems.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, contractors, and clients to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Analyze technical data and prepare detailed commissioning reports and documentation.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize project delays and ensure system reliability.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and commissioning staff.
