About The Position

The Senior Student Program Coordinator at Texas McCombs plays a pivotal role in the Harkey Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies, primarily focusing on the coordination of the Summer Entrepreneurship Academy (SEA) and the Entrepreneurship Living Learning Community (LLC). This position is integral to the success of these programs, which are designed to foster entrepreneurial skills among students. The coordinator will be responsible for managing all aspects of the SEA, including marketing efforts to attract potential students, overseeing the application and admission processes, and tracking admission statistics. Additionally, the coordinator will organize co-curricular engagements such as workshops, receptions, and guest speaker events, and will be involved in the formulation of the summer curriculum and orientation agenda. The role also includes facilitating faculty recruitment and maintaining the program's Canvas page with regular updates and announcements. The coordinator will provide guidance to current and prospective students and will coordinate with University Extension for student registration and billing, as well as oversee the institutional scholarship program as appropriate. In managing Startup City Limits, the coordinator will oversee all aspects from initial planning through post-event evaluations. This includes venue coordination, liaising with vendors and sponsors, managing budgets, selecting and coordinating food and beverage vendors, hiring entertainment, designing giveaways, creating marketing materials, managing online event pages, ensuring brand consistency, distributing invitations, and coordinating logistics for student and alumni showcases. The coordinator will also curate speakers, sessions, and topics to cater to students, alumni, and the Austin community. The coordinator will manage the Entrepreneurship Living Learning Community (LLC), which involves overseeing the application process, surveying and monitoring enrolled students, recruiting and supervising LLC mentors, and organizing monthly co-curricular engagements in collaboration with campus partners and student organizations. This role also includes advising current and prospective students interested in the Entrepreneurship Minor and SEA, as well as managing the LLC budget and potential scholarship allocations. The coordinator will provide advising and guidance to prospective students interested in Harkey Institute programs, answering questions regarding minor requirements and the application process, holding regular office hours, and conducting outreach to targeted populations. The coordinator will maintain an ongoing working knowledge of responsibilities associated with essential functions and participate fully in support of other major Institute initiatives. Additionally, the coordinator will select, train, and manage student workers to assist with programming, events, peer advising, and other front desk responsibilities.
