About The Position
The Student Care Professional Counselors are the central and first point of contact for students to access the Student Care Network (Counseling, Health, Basic Needs Resources) and other student support services. This position collaborates with students to develop a student success plan, share education about and facilitate connections to appropriate on and off-campus resources and provide accountability through supportive follow up meetings. This position provides case management services, conduct intake assessments, recommend appropriate treatment plans, and coordinate support services. This position assists with outreach and education for the campus community regarding identification and intervention for students of concern. Position also develops unique competencies in assisting students with reducing financial barriers, such as food, housing, legal, and childcare. This position works as part of a dynamic team of mental health and medical care professionals (including nurses, LPCs, psychologists) providing services to an intergenerational community. This position coordinates basic needs and development plans, budgets and initiatives related to the student services, and social needs of students. Position collaborates with employees, students, and community organizations to build a network of supports to assist under-resourced students by leveraging existing community resources, coordinating opportunities for cross-training among existing college supports and personnel, and designing and implementing new programming.
